ONE4ALL PROJECT KICK-OFF

In February Claude, Chris, Gareth and Noel from the Innopharma Technology / InnoGlobal teams travelled to Seville in Spain for the kick off meeting of the One4All project.

One4all is a European-funded research project of ~€6M, featuring 10 partners across Europe.

The project aims to boost manufacturing plants’ transformation, especially small and medium sized enterprises, towards industry 5.0, improving resilience under unexpected changes in social needs.

It is done through a human-and-sustainability-centered development of plug-and-produce reconfigurable cyber-physical production modules (RCPMs). Those will consist of self-reconfigurable mobile collaborative robots embedded with IIOT devices for real-time monitoring and interconnectivity.

The potential of ONE4ALL will be demonstrated in two relevant environments from different sectors (agri-food and pharmaceutical), both highly affected by disruption given their high and fluctuant demand and not fully impacted yet by I5.0 transformations.

For more information see the new project website: one4allproject.eu

HORIBA ANNUAL SALES

Innopharma Technology were invited back to the Horiba Particle Characterization Group’s annual sales meeting in Irvine California. This was the first time in 3 years that the Horiba Sales meeting was in person. The team of 20+ representatives from across the Americas were enthused to see the new machine-learning features of Eyecon2 in real time and in real life, with lots of hands-on demos and training provided by Darren McHugh over 3 days of workshops. The Particle Characterization Group is now empowered to promote and sell the new capability of the Eyecon2 into non-pharma industries. With samples already received from a manufacturer of specialty fertilizers and specialty chemical products, the new markets open to the Eyecon2 are starting to take off.

 EU SUBMISSIONS

Innopharma’s Funding and Innovation Team in the Technology division was very busy with the submission of three Research Proposals for the Horizon Europe framework. We led 2 Research and Innovation Actions (RIAs) and one Coordination and Supporting Action (CSA) call topic submissions aimed at 1) development of 10 Pilots across 16 Member States for an Innovative Human-centric Industry, 2) the identification of drivers and success factors for progress towards Industry 5.0, and 3) assessment of green and digital skills and training needs for a just transition to I5.0.  We managed three consortia for a total of around 48 members, and we asked for a total budget of around 16M Euro.

MID-WEST REGIONAL UPDATES & INDUCTIONS

Our main focus for Qtr 1 has been recruitment for our January & March where we successfully recruited 156 students for these intakes.

The Regional Orientations took place at TUS for the following programmes

  • L6 Pharma    Jan & Mar 23:

  • L6 Food Science:    Jan

  • L6 IT for Process    Jan

It was great to have the Regional Orientation face to face which focuses on engagement with students and the group activities conducted on the day ensure this is achieved.  Their personal introduction really help them to get to know one another. We have lots of referrals from family & friends and to mention just a few we have siblings (the 3 Hughes brothers and 4 sets of partners studying at present across our programmes).

We had a number of progression students who shared their positive experiences of studying with Innopharma and offered excellent advice to the group. Overall the feedback was excellent  and  the students were most appreciative of their welcome gift and complimentary refreshments.

On March 8th we attended the Grad Ireland careers fair. A very busy day and we were lucky to be in such a great spot with plenty of footfall. As well as speaking with potential new students it was lovely to speak with existing students who recognize the stand and approached us to tell us about how much they are enjoying the course and experience with Innopharma. Also a very strong knowledge and interest in the Tech services Validation programme from our current students that we spoke to.

PROGRAMME VALIDATION & PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT

The MSc will be advertised to International students and the first intake is planned for September 2023.

Innopharma Education developed 5 Microcredential programmes, all of which were also approved which increases our course offering as an independent college from 3 – 8. The programmes are as follows:

The Innopharma Book Club meets every Wednesday - it is never too late to join. Aprils book is The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.

The Outsiders is an outstanding story of teenage rebellion, written when the author was only 17. Teenagers in a small Oklahoma town have split into two gangs, divided by money, tastes and attitude. The Socs' idea of having a good time is beating up Greasers like Ponyboy Curtis. Ponyboy knows what to expect and knows he can count on his brothers and friends - until the night someone takes things too far, and life is changed forever.
