2016 Innopharma Year in Review

Indrajeet2

It’s been an exciting year here at Innopharma. On the education side, we’ve had some 1,500 students pass through our courses. While the tech side of our business has been busy innovating with the launch of two innovative new products, the Eyecon2 Particle Sizer & Eyepass software.

New Brand Image Launched

We kicked off 2016 with a vibrant new brand image designed to reflect the fresh and innovative thinking that Innopharma stands for.

Ireland’s pharmaceutical and medical technology industries continued to grow in 2016 with over 25,000 people now employed in the sectors. There were also several job announcements in the sector with Galway’s Medical device industry, in particular, announcing several new jobs coming online.

New Masters Courses Announced

Being a part of the pharmaceutical industry ourselves means we have strong industry connections and insight. We are always on the lookout for new or emerging trends in the industry. Having conducted significant research on what skill sets are in-demand in the industry, this year we created three new Masters courses offering anyone interested in progressing their career the opportunity to study for these in-demand roles. These courses are MSc Medical Device Technology & Business, MSc in Pharmaceutical Data Analysis and MSc in Clinical Research Operations.

First Fully Online Course Announced

Speaking of new courses, we also launched a new and fully online Process Analytical Technology course which brings you up-to-date with the latest in PAT developments. The course can be taken in just 180 minutes and in the comfort of your own home.

Travelled the Country

We journeyed the length and breadth of the country this year hosting information evenings from Cork to Dublin.

One of the highlights of our travels was getting to visit the National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore. There we had the opportunity to speak with hordes of people interested in a career in Food Science. We even bumped into one of our recent food science graduates who happened to be exhibiting there too.

Awards Nominations

We had plenty to celebrate this year with nominations for the Pharma Industry Awards and the Postgraduate course of the year. And we were delighted to top off the year with a nomination for Science Course of the Year at the Higher Education Awards.

Looking Forward

It’s been a whirlwind of a year and we are looking forward to just as exciting a year in 2017. We want to wish all our students and staff a healthy and happy holiday season.

See you in the new year.
