If you are interested in a career in the thriving advanced manufacturing sector or want to take your career to the next level, AMTCE, in association with industry-specialist educators Innopharma Education, is launching two new part-time Level 6 Certificate Courses in Supply Chain and Operational Excellence.

Michael McGrath, director, AMTCE, saidThe introduction of the new courses in Supply Chain and Operational Excellence are in line with AMTCE’s objective to provide the highest quality training delivered by experts in a simulating environment that is endorsed by leading industrial vendors.”

The new courses will combine industry context and practical applications with rich insights into the future of advanced manufacturing. Successful participants will receive a QQI Level 6 Special Purpose Award in Supply Chain or a QQI Level 6 Certificate in Operational Excellence.

Designed to accommodate busy lifestyles, the part-time courses will run over six months in a blended format of online lectures during the week and a combination of classroom and online delivery on Saturdays.

The Certificate in Operational Excellence course focuses on developing the learner’s understanding of  Lean Six Sigma and its application across a range of sectors. The programme also provides the learner with an in-depth understanding of technical and professional communications together with information design and delivery.

The Certificate in Supply Chain course will equip learners with an understanding of emerging trends and digital technologies impacting supply chains and operations, with a particular focus on project management.

Ann Ryan, head of business development, Innopharma Education, said, “We’re really excited by innovative models to programme delivery such as our association with AMTCE, which enhance our ability to respond with greater agility to the continually emerging needs of industry, our learners and society.”

Manufacturing’s accounts for 275,000 direct jobs and supports a further 135,000 in direct jobs and contributes over a third of Ireland’s annual GDP. 85% of those jobs are located outside Dublin, highlighting the importance of manufacturing for rural areas across the country.

All AMTCE courses are delivered through Skills to Advance, a national funding policy Framework, available through the ETBs (education and training boards) to support employees and employers in accessing upskilling and reskilling training opportunities.
